Meriam Process Technologies offers a Complete Device Management Solution including an MFC4100 Documenting HART communicator, MFT4000 series Documenting HART Process Calibrator, and a MS SQL-based Device Management System software package. Meriam’s complete solution ensures a secure audit trail of all calibration activity and configuration data of HART and Conventional devices is maintained throughout the lifecycle of the plant. The DMS software is designed as a life-cycle tool, facilitating commissioning & start-up, operations and maintenance & repair. The client-server architecture facilitates concurrent users, from reliability engineers to purchasing agents to maintenance technicians. The unlimited tag database facilitates the smallest to largest applications without huge cost penalties.

Scheduling maintenance and paperless documenting functions minimize shutdown periods. Devices due for maintenance have configurations and calibration procedures downloaded to the documenting handheld calibrators and communicators for PDA-like capability. Up to 200 configurations may be stored in the MFC4100 and MFT4000 series, while up to 100 21-point, As-found/As-left calibration records may be recorded and stored electronically in the MFT4000 series.

Post configuration and calibration is simplified with a simple upload and approval. Secure automated storage and retrieval of historical data is available at the press of a button and reports for agency compliance are a mouse click away. The use of open standards facilitates integration with existing applications for true enterprise-wide connectivity.

The system is designed to maximize field use. Temperature compensated calibration modules may be certified locally. Updates to firmware, software and device profiles are simple downloads from the Meriam web site, www.meriam.com. This modern approach ensures the products are always current and available for use in the unlikely event of unscheduled maintenance or opportunistic downtime.
