Averaging Pitot Tubes

Meriam manufactures the widest range of Averaging Pitot Tubes for gases, liquids, and steam with bi-directional flow capability. Under the Accutube brand name, there are four standard models; Inline, Insertion, Flanged, and Wet Tap, which can provide a flow solution for your most challenging applications. To provide the complete flow solution that meets your specific needs, we can provide DP or Multivariable transmitters from the brand of your choice, or we will recommend the best fit for your application. Qualified technicians can install these transmitters on the Accutube and configure them to your specific flow requirements here at Meriam, reducing expenses and time.

Indicating Fluids

Meriam indicating fluids are available for a wide variety of needs. Low freeze point fluids are available for cold weather climates and outdoor use. High temperature fluids are also available for higher temperature environments. Indicating fluid specific gravity (density) options range from 0.827 Red Oil to 2.95 Red Fluid. The higher specific gravity fluids can be used to increase the measurement range of any glass tube manometer.

Laminar Flow

Meriam Laminar Flow Elements (LFEs) are excellent for measuring low gas flow rates from 0.2SCCM up to 2250 SCFM. They are inherently accurate, repeatable and are calibrated traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Flow turndown is 20:1 or better and the differential pressure generated is nearly linear to flow.

Meriam Digital Pressure Manometers have many advantages in this age of technology because of their inherent accuracy and simplicity. Manometers are unique in being both pressure measurement instruments and standards for calibration of other instruments. The manometer is commonly used to measure pressures ranging from as high as 100 inches of 2.95 Red Fluid (10.65 PSI) to the lowest vacuums of space and assist with calibrating pressure. Manometers are available in varying designs depending upon application:


U-Tube Manometers
The U-tube manometer is the basic and most widely used style of manometer. The Meriam U-tube manometer is a versatile, economical instrument for the measurement of pressures, vacuums or differential pressures. Pressure measurements are accomplished by balancing a vertical head of indicating fluid with the pressure to be measured. There are no cams, gears, or levers to operate in the manometer. This allows the U-tube manometer to be recognized by NIST as a primary standard due to its inherent accuracy and simplicity of operation. Meriam U-tube manometers are constructed of a ridged cast aluminum frame, aluminum indicating scale and hand bent glass U-tube. Mounting holes are provided in the frame for mounting to a wall, column or other suitable structure.


Well Type Manometers
Well manometers are a direct reading device designed for process monitoring, general purpose production testing or laboratory measurement. Designed for a maximum line pressure of 250 PSI (500 PSI optional) these instruments may also be used for tank level, flow measurement and leak detection. Well manometers are constructed of aluminum channel, stainless steel end blocks and stainless steel manometer well. The 7/16 diameter glass tubing is yoke packed with viton gaskets at each end block and is supported at spaced intervals to prevent distortion. In most cases, the uncertainty of a manometer reading is +1/2 of the smallest scale graduation. This is due to the human eyes ability to interpolate between graduations.


Inclined Manometers
Inclined manometers provide greater readability by stretching a vertical differential along an inclined indicating column, giving more graduations per unit of vertical height. This effectively increases the instruments sensitivity and accuracy. Scales are typically graduated to the hundredth of an inch. The Model 40HEX Inclined manometer is individually calibrated and the angle of inclination is set relative to the instrument level mounted above the channel. The unit is also capable of operating with 350-PSI line pressure. The construction of the 40HEX35 is similar to the well type manometer described above. Additional inclined manometers are available depending on your requirements.

Considered the most common primary element, Meriam’s concentric orifice plates are precision bored to exact dimensions with a sharp upstream edge to ensure accuracy. Pair this up with an orifice flange to provide a convenient, accurate method for installing orifice plates.

Hydro Pneumatic Tester

The HPT100 is a second generation pipeline integrity testing tool that provides real time measurements and data logging during a hydrostatic or pneumatic pipeline test. The HTP100 reduces costs, set up time, and uses advance technology delivering ultimate, real-time reporting capabilities including data logging, exportable test logs, user configurable inputs and multiple engineering units making the HPT100 an essential tool for any pipeline tester. Powered by readily available 12VDC the HPT100 and a battery backup will record hours of uninterrupted test results.


Easy to use, the HPT100 comes with everything pipeline testers need to record pressure, temperature, and other test data.  There are multiple measurement solutions all in one device, easily accessible to increase efficiency during pipeline test sections making the Hydro/Pneumatic tester an essential tool for pipeline testers.
